This program is a very interesting one. It was created by a gentleman from Belgium. He suffered for many years from anxiety and panic attacks. After searching for and going over a plethora of different self-help methods, he overcame his anxiety and created this program to help others do the same. He seems very genuine in all of his videos and in all the sessions. Of course, we have to remember that this is a way to make money, so we can’t buy right into the sales pitch.

The great thing about this program is that there is a FREE 30-day trial. Geert will send you the first 7 sessions absolutely free. He burns the CDs himself and sends them straight to you. You have 30 days to try it out, and if you like it you will make your first payment through Paypal. After you make your first payment, you will receive the last 7 sessions and you have another 2 months to decide if the program is for you. If it’s not, he will refund all of your money, and doesn’t ask that you return the CDs. If you do like the program you will make your last payment through Paypal and continue with the program. This policy is great, and goes to show that maybe he is a little less concerned with making money and more concerned about helping others overcome their anxiety.

As I began going through this program I got the feeling that it was much more complicated than it needed to be. There are 14 sessions and you are supposed to go through each session over the course of a week. The expectation is that you will go through each session 3 or 4 times in a week and then move on to the next. This was somewhat difficult for me trying to go to school, work 40 hours, and then go through the sessions and work on remembering everything that he talks about.

The basic idea of this program is, “Whatever happens, it’s OK”. This is a great motto for overcoming anxiety. For myself, and many others, the stress that develops comes from worrying about what will happen and what others will think. If you can just realize that no matter what it will be OK, you begin to calm down in normally stressful situations.

There are great tips in this program for dealing with panic attacks and being strong in high stress situations. But, even though it is also touted for overcoming anxiety, it didn’t seem to focus nearly as much on daily anxiety issues. If this is the area that you are having trouble with, I would suggest that you take your search for help elsewhere.

All in all, the program is great for those who have the time to get through it. I don’t personally believe that everyone can be completely cured in 14 weeks as is the claim of this product. But I do believe that if you have the patience to get through these sessions you will be better off after 14 weeks. However, if you are like me and don’t have the time or patience to go through a very demanding program, there are other alternatives. Which I will be discussing and going over in detail in future posts.

Bobby,

I actually only have the first 6 discs of the program. I cancelled my subscription before I received the rest of them. However, considering that it would be against the law for me to burn them and send them to you, even if I had them all I would have to decline your request.

Thanks for taking a look at my blog though.

WHat other alternatives would you suggest instead of a demanding program like ilovepanickattacks.com?

D,

First off, thanks for reading my blog and taking the time to comment.

I believe that everyone is different, so what works and is best for me, may not be the best for you. With that said, the alternative that has helped me the most is reading the book “Hope and help for your nerves” by Dr. Claire Weekes. It is an amazing book. I have a review of this book on my blog also if you would like to take a look.

The book is cheap, quite easy to understand, and very straight forward with what you need to succeed in overcoming you nervous illness.

Hi Chris,
The first time I suffered from Panick attacks and depression was when I was 21. Then after about a year or so, I got much better. I then relapsed 11 years later at age 32 when I thought that it will never come back to me. Anyways, I relapsed 3 more times after since I go on and off medication and I do get better when the medication works. I am now in the process of finding some deep answers to hopefully solve my illness once and for all and I was considering Geert’s program. I also looked at Panickaway.com which seems interesting. Do you think the book you mentioned is much better ? and did it work for you ? any relapses ?
Thanks

Hello Moe,

Though I have only had 2 full blown panic attacks in my life. I have never had another one, or even felt like I was going to, since reading and using the information in Hope and Help for your Nerves. It has also made a HUGE difference in my life with anxious and nervous feelings.

I have also looked in to panicaway.com and I will tell you this. It seems that it is based off of the works of Dr. Claire Weekes. Pretty much everything that you read and go over in Panic Away can be found in Hope and Help. I don’t remember the pricing of Panic Away, but I know that you can get Hope and Help for around $7-8.

Hope that helps.

Hi Chris

Thanks for your review of ILovePanicAttacks. I have ordered the cds and have gone through 3 so far. I have enjoyed listening to them but I have to say I haven’t really learned anything I didn’t know already from ‘Hope and Help for Your Nerves’ (which as you say is FANTASTIC) and Panic Away, which is also very helpful. Do you think it is worth pursuing the CD course? i am tempted to return it as it is quite expensive and I think I am already becoming a bit of a expert on what I have to do, ie face, accept, float, let time pass.

Best Wishes

Eliza.

I returned the course for the same reason that you are stating here. It doesn’t seem like there is a whole lot in it that isn’t already in Hope and Help for your Nerves. I have also looked at Panic Away and it seems like ILovePanicAttacks is just a very elaborate version of panic away. In the long run it all really boils down to what works best for you. If you don’t feel like you are getting anything new out of it, definitely don’t spend the money to get the full course.

Thanks for taking a look at my blog. Hopefully you will continue to read my posts and get some strength from knowing that you are not alone.
